Kampung Rambutan Trash Bank Produced 800 Kilograms of Compost

Even just operating for 3 months, Kampung Rambutan Terminal Trash Bank, East Jakarta has been able to produce 800 kilograms of compost every month.

We are not selling the compost but we sharing it to citizen for plant fertilizer

Not just that, this trash bank also collecting 30 kilograms of non-organic trash and sold it with high price every day.

Kampung Rambutan Inner City Terminal Head, Thofik Winanto said that at first this trash bank that was built since 2015 is managed by East Jakarta Environment Sub-dept.

Sunter ITF Construction will Be Realized This Year

"Per this January, we manage this trash bank. It can produce 30 kilograms of non-organic trash and sold it for operational cost," he expressed, Wednesday (3/15).

He explained that organic trash in this trash bank is sold to collector with price around Rp 2,000 to Rp 7,000 per kilogram. While produced compost each month could reach around 400-800 kilograms.

"We are not selling the compost but we sharing it to citizen for plant fertilizer," he added.

Kampung Rambutan Urban Village Head, Dwi Astuti added her side will help to sell the produced compost from trash bank collaborating with several ornamental plant traders.

"Citizen can learn to make compost or even cooperate to manage non-organic trash thus can be sold," she closed.
